It turned out that the original "svn merge" command executed on Friday had, in fact, succeeded, and was hung in the final notification stage.

It also turns out that if you are applying a change that is already in svn, it is accepted silently. I would have expected at least something like you get from patch, where it notices the patch is already there.

So, basically, I was trying to re-apply a patch that was already committed, and the only thing that prevented it from being completely silently accepted was the fact that files were added and deleted.

What I do is park the message in the draft folder long enough to be able to come back to it and make sure it reads clean of hostility. I'm not saying that everything you write is hostile but rather that with written "instant" messages some word choices are eaisly received as more hostile than others.

Basically give it the "would I say this in person" test.

Ya, even my email address at work, which is some bizarre ugly x.400 thingy that Exchange uses, has an SMTP equivalent using the @ sign. I think it's safe to require that, even in large corporate intranets.

The thing is, it started happening when we upgraded the Wiki a while back. I was kind of hoping lots of others were having the same problem and it would get fixed relatively quickly. Guess not!

wow - how did that happen?

I just got done editing the BuildingChandler page and while my top and left toolbars didn't disappear the left one did change it's width for some reason.

But when I closed the window and went back it was ok.

This is on Firefox on OS X Tiger.

hmm, your using Safari - let me try that real fast ....

nope - they didn't disappear for me.

dude - there must be a gremlin sitting on your network connection that randomly consumes bytes coming from OSAF ;)

Odd ... it works just fine for me, no symlinks or anything; launching Chandler via

bash$ GDB=1 ./release/RunChandler

...

(gdb) set args -O ./Chandler.py
(gdb) run

I can control-C and get symbols from Python, wx, Berkeley, etc, etc...

Note to self - make sure that all the
#if 0
's are supposed to be there, especially the one near line 1500 of toolbar.cpp, right at the end of
wxToolBar::Realize()
.
